| The 15th May is the Festival of San Isidro, the patron saint of the city, with numerous typical parties such as dances, processions and the best bullfights of the year. There are also rock and jazz concerts, theatre and craft fairs.
In July and August are the Veranos de la Villa, a campaign of theatre, cinema, dances, ands musical shows organised by the council.
From 6th to 15th August is one of the most well-known festivals in the city, the Verbena de la Paloma, characterised by its colour and the great optimism felt in the street. This festival resuscitates the typical Madrid traditional sequin suits and dresses, the dances of the “chotis” and the beautiful manila blankets, all with the most typical Madrid folklore. |
