| The Semana Grande in Bilbao is held at the end of August. For a week and a half the old quarter of the city becomes a sea of people filling the streets and every quarter in search of the hundreds of festive acts that they might find.
The variety and the amount of acts is not comparable to any other city in the Peninsula. Concerts of all kinds (six or seven a day in different places and at different times), rural sport, music and alcohol for the young in the “txoznas”, children’s activities, festive parades, fireworks, etc. and above all contact with a population in which good humour and warmth has always been the rule and law, that of Bilbao. |
